New blog to check out

Mookie Wilson's blog

It's still relatively new, but the posts are well written. With any luck, he will delve more into the detail of the 1986 season (his first post was more of an overview, with a bit of personal reflection as well).

Welcome to Montreal Brent

While I'm watching the Montreal Canadiens' defense corps prove why this trade was needed, I'll point you to Life of a Hockey Widow a blog written by the wife of new Montreal Canadiens defenseman Brent Sopel. It's an intresting look at what it's like to be the wife of a professional athlete.

Short plug in lieu of owed post

Yup, I still have some things to say about Rob and Russell, and that will come tomorrow, I swear!

In the mean time, check out my good friend Gary Wise's new blog, which is updated very frequently (so hit it often - you'll probably find a new post!)

TV talks about newspapers vs. blogs

A great piece by The Score on the Newspaper/Blogosphere battle:

Both sides have valid points. Cox's point that getting comment from Colin Campbell would have provided better balance is well taken, while Dellow and Sanchez's point that knowing Cox's name doesn't mean that we know his biases and personal relationships is just as valid.

It's something to think about, and I honestly think that both should be able to co-exist. Bloggers tend to take a different angle on stories - for example, Dellow looked at the emails differently than a Toronto Star reporter who initially was reporting on the lawsuit that the emails were evidence in. But the MSM can also help to flesh out the story, get the reaction from the principals thanks to their "access".
