One of the worst ideas in history

I have a metric tonne of respect for Bob Barker, but this might be one of the worst things I have ever heard.

Rosie O'Donnell is the polar opposite of what you need for the Price is Right. You need someone who is poise and class in the midst of the tackiness all around him (or her). Rosie O'Donnell might relate well with people, but she does not have the presence needed for the show.

What a shock!

Bob Barker just won the Daytime Emmy for best game show host. Coincidentally, they just re-aired his final episode right before the Emmys. (Rumours of a freak duststorm occurring at the end of the episode i the Mill-town can not be confirmed or denied at this time.)

Aside: I was going to rant about how they took Bob's moment away, but then they showed Rachael Ray and her dress and all was good in the world.

Murdalizing a song

You know, I'd put up with this laughably horrible falsetto rendition of "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" on the Walk of Fame inductions if Rick Hansen wasn't right in the front row at the time. Hansen was notably classy though, complimenting the singer for an "amazing" performance.

(I mean, falsetto chorus to a chorus that demands power behind it, "stripping" the song down with an acoustic guitar and the cliched choir chorus joining him at the end of the song - I could have come up with a better arrangement in 5 minutes and I don't know a damn thing about arranging music.)

The things you learn

Ivan Reitman was executive producer on Disturbia.

(Added bonus knowledge - his son Jason directed Thank You for Smoking, but this is more common knowledge.)

To the point

Aaron Wherry has a good summation of what is frustrating about the Canadian government (and specifically the Prime Minister) right here. Bonus point to him for getting on the media's case about this.
