Survivor: Guatemala Recap Number One
Wow. A great start to this season, even with one of the weaker group of personalities in recent history.
Some quick thoughts:
- The opening challenge was brutal. It stands as the most physically demanding opening, but the most entertaining as well.
- How lucky is Nakum that they have Margaret?
- Speaking of injuries, is Blake faking it? If so, from what point did he start faking it? I can't imagine somebody with a "separated" shoulder being that good at physical competitions. But if he is faking it, he's doing a good job in being able to vomit whenever he wants.
- Regardless of whether Blake is faking it or not, he better get "better" quickly. He's drawing a lot of enemies.
- What was with the second immunity challenge? Why was a team able to re-use somebody more than once? Also, wouldn't you feel if the line has gone slack? If
- Nakum made the obvious boot. What confused me was why Jim voted for Margaret. Was it really luck of the draw like he claimed?
- On the other hand, I don't understand Yaxha's decision. Unlike the bloggers over at CBS, I was also surprised that Yaxha was thinking of getting rid of Stephanie. She's a threat for individual immunity, granted, but I can't see her being a dominant threat. Ultimately, she strikes me as somebody who you can bring to be on the jury before cutting her loose. With that said, I still don't understand how anybody didn't come up with Rafe as a possible target. The guy couldn't climb up a ladder and you're looking at one of the women as a possible target? Lydia was trying to catch fish, and Morgan could be useful in a future challenge (whether it be because of her balancing skills - as I believe Amy pointed out - or because of her weight if there is one of those "carry your teammate" challenges).
Week 3 stuff to come sometime over the weekend.
